Needle Depth Guide:

Consider the kind of skin you’re treating. Thicker skin (such as mature skin, stretch marks, scar tissue) may require a slightly deeper microneedling depth for optimal results.

MP E (Elite) / E-Pen Needle Cartridge – sterile cartridge containing 12 Stainless Steel 32g needles

MicroPen® Elite

With the MicroPen® Elite, physicians have a tool that can fit in their pocket and safely treat several skin conditions related to aging.  Using a sterile cartridge containing 12 tiny micro-points, the MicroPen® Elite punctures the top layer of skin to boost collagen production.

The Elite improves the appearance of age spots, black heads, and hyper-pigmentation, as well as exfoliates the skin for a softer, smoother texture.

Automated Micro-Needling (also known as Epidermal Collagen Induction Therapy or ECIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and the improvement of the skin’s texture, tone and color. During this procedure, the Eclipse MicroPen® is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to aid in the production of collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker epidermis with a softer appearance of wrinkles. Eclipse MicroPen® Elite also creates micro-channels which allow topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively, enhancing the effects in deeper layers of the skin.

Eclipse MicroPen® Elite can be used on all parts of the body: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back. After treatment, you will notice a bright redness to the skin. However downtime is minimal on average, patients experience redness for 2-4 days. Some patients heal completely in 24 hours.

The E Safety Cartridge is a revolutionary cartridge. The top-selling cartridge provides significant advances in technology and safety.
The E Cartridge has 12 sterile 32-gauge precision points that aid in creating minimal discomfort, rapid recovery and natural-looking results.
· It is used in conjunction with select devices to help improve the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, sun spots and stretch marks.
· The cartridge virtually eliminates cross-contamination risk by blocking migration of fluids through the cartridge housing.
· The popular cartridge features a vented port to reduce vacuum pressure. Such pressure can be potentially found in other cartridges which may contribute to the formation of broken capillaries.

1. How Many Microneedling Treatments Do You Need?

Series of 3-6 Procedures at 4-week intervals, but your skincare provider may recommend more or less depending on your individual case.

2. How Does Micropen Elite™ Microneedling Work?

Micropen Elite™ is a microneedling technology device designed for use by medical professionals. Sterile microneedle cartridges are provided for single use only.

Micropen Elite™ is a minimally invasive, in-office, skin rejuvenation procedure that improves the look of fine lines, wrinkles, large pores and scars by stimulating your skin’s natural ability to repair itself.

3. How Often Should I Get Treatments?

Treatments are recommended at 4-week intervals.

4. Is This Treatment Safe?

Microneedling is minimally invasive, requiring no downtime. It’s considered safe for most people who are in overall good health. The procedure isn’t safe for people who use certain acne medications or for women who are pregnant.

Use of Micropen Elite™ is contraindicated for patients with a history of keloid scars, scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities; a hemorrhagic disorder or hemostatic dysfunction; or an active bacterial or
fungal infection.

Micropen Elite™ has not been evaluated in the following patient populations, and as such, precautions should be taken when determining whether the Micropen Elite™ procedure is adequate for patients: Scars and stretch marks less than one year old; women who are pregnant or nursing; patients with a history of eczema, psoriasis and other chronic conditions; patients with a history of actinic (solar) keratosis; patients with a history of herpes simplex infections; diabetics or patients with wound-healing deficiencies; patients on immunosuppressive therapy; and skin with the presence of raised moles or warts on targeted areas.

5. Will This Treatment Hurt?

Your doctor will apply a topical anesthetic roughly 45 to 60 minutes before the treatment begins. This helps numb the area and reduce any pain that might be felt during the procedure. The most common sensation during the procedure is a warm, scratching feeling as the tool is moved around the face. You may also notice some pain on the “bonier” areas of your face, such as your hairline, forehead, and jawline.

Otherwise, the application of the topical anesthetic makes this procedure relatively pain-free.

6. Are There Any Restrictions Following Microneedling?

Avoid washing your face with anything other than lukewarm water and gentle cleanser for 48 to 72 hours after the procedure.

Avoid using makeup for at least 48 to 72 hours after the procedure. When you do apply makeup, only use clean makeup brushes.

Avoid direct sunlight for 48 to 72 hours after the procedure. If you plan to go outside, don’t forget to apply sunscreen.

Avoid using harsh cleansers and exfoliants after your procedure. They can cause more irritation and inflammation while your skin is healing.

7. What should you not do after a Micropen Elite™ procedure?

After the procedure, your doctor will apply saline pads to your skin. In some cases, they may apply a gel face mask to help calm the skin and reduce inflammation and redness. They may also prescribe creams and lotions that will help with the healing process of the skin.

8. What should you not do before a Micropen Elite™ procedure?

Avoid using any products on your skin that increase sensitivity, such as retinoids or exfoliants.

Avoid laser procedures or overexposure to the sun before treatment. This can damage the skin and increase sensitivity.

Don’t shave, wax, or use depilatories before the procedure. This can lead to an increase in skin sensitivity.

It’s also recommended that you prepare your skin with vitamin A and vitamin C formulations which may help promote the production of collagen.

9. Can I use moisturizer after Micropen Elite™?

Apply any prescribed or recommended topical creams and lotions to keep your skin moisturized and to reduce inflammation.

10. How long after Micropen Elite™ can I wear makeup?

Avoid using makeup for at least 48 to 72 hours after the procedure. When you do apply makeup, only use clean makeup brushes.

11. How long until you see the results from Micropen Elite?

It takes time for the formation of new collagen. You’ll typically have to wait 2 to 6 weeks between sessions to allow the skin to repair itself. It can take 3-4 sessions to see noticeable results from microneedling.

Do and don’ts after microneedling?

Make sure to follow all postoperative instructions provided by your doctor.

12. What is the best thing to use after microneedling?

Your healthcare provider may apply a skin cream or serum after your microneedling treatment, such as:

vitamin C
vitamin E
vitamin A
