Southmedic – Dermaplane Blade – Size 10R, (Sterile) 45 Degrees Polymer Coated Blade, 50/box

Same Blades as used by ” DermaPlane Pro “

Southmedic’s dermaplaning blade is specially designed for manual exfoliation of the epidermis.

The #10R blade on a 45 degree angle, carefully stroked across the desired area, removes the outermost layers of dead skin cells. Commonly referred to as a butter blade, the 10R blade is safe and effective for resurfacing the skin.

Also, the rounded (bull nose) tip prevents any accidental snagging or scratching, resulting in a more effective and consistent finish.

Dermaplaning removes peach fuzz that can trap excess dirt and oil. The process can be completed on small areas of skin or the entire face and in conjunction with other treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or fluorescent pulsed light (FPL).

This dermaplane butter blade is ideal for contouring the nose, mouth and brows.

Fits a #3 handle.

What are the differences between Standard 10R Blades and Polymer-Coated 10r Blades?

Both are the same 10R rounded “butter” blade shape, so the performance and safety profile are similar. The difference comes down to coating type, manufacturing quality, and packaging.

  • $60 / 100 count (10R)
These are standard stainless-steel 10R blades. They’re sterile, reliable, and a great value for high-volume practices or training use.
  • $105 / 50 count (Polymer-Coated 10R)
These are premium polymer-coated blades designed specifically for dermaplaning. The coating reduces friction, creates a smoother glide on the skin, and is often preferred for sensitive skin or higher-end treatments. They’re also produced with tighter quality control, which is reflected in the price.

In short:
✔ Same blade shape
✔ Different coating quality and feel
✔ One is value-driven, the other is glide-optimized

Both are excellent options ,  it really comes down to preference and how you plan to use them in practice.
