During your initial appointment, a technician will listen to your concerns and goals before creating a treatment plan completely tailored to your needs. At this point, we will ask patients to lie down comfortably in one of our treatment rooms. A cooling gel will then be applied to the targeted area(s) in order to ensure the patient remains completely comfortable throughout the duration of the procedure. How quick are the results from Sciton BBL? Many patients can see improvements in about three days after their initial treatment, but final results are visible around one month after a full series of treatments is completed as new collagen and elastin are formed. It is common for your skin to get varying results after each treatment session. You will see a gradual diminishing of redness, blotchiness, sunspots, and age spots over time.

What are the possible side effects of Sciton BBL? You may have mild, temporary side effects, like redness, swelling, blisters, bruising, or crusting. These fade 2 – 3 days following your treatment. You will be extra sensitive to the sun, and you should keep in mind that damaging UV rays can negatively impact the results of the procedure. Whenever you go outside, you should always wear sunscreen to protect your skin and prevent issues like spots and redness.

Do I need to prep for Sciton BBL? Patients about to undergo a Sciton BBL treatment are asked to skip sun exposure and self-tanners for 2 – 4 weeks prior to the appointment. You should discontinue the use of certain medications and topical creams, like Retin-A, a few days before each procedure and may be asked to take ibuprofen or aspirin a week before the treatment to decrease your risk of bruising. You also need to use sun protection (like a hat and sunscreen) since your skin will be extra sensitive.
